Theological Words Every Christian Should Know ~Sin

The word is used in several different ways in Scripture. It's meaning varies from "missing the mark, to "ungodliness", to "rebellion". In all cases, it refers to the condition of human nature that separates us from a Holy God at birth. It holds mankind in bondage until it is broken by the power of God at regeneration. There is often confusion to the difference between "sin" and "sins". "Sins" is an outworking on what dwells within, which is "sin". We are not sinners because we sin, but we sin because we are sinners.
