I must have a God

Oh, dear friends, I could not bear to be an "ignoramus" or an "agnostic" about God! I must have a God; I cannot do without him. He is to me as necessary as food to my body, and air to my lungs. The sad thing is, that many, who believe that there is a God, yet glorify him not as God, for they do not even give him a thought. I appeal to some here, whether that is not true. You go from the beginning of the week to the end of it without reflecting upon God at all. You could do as well without God as with him. Is not that the case? And must there not be something very terrible in the condition of your heart when, as a creature, you can do without a thought of your Creator, when he that has nourished you, and brought you up, is nothing to you, one of whom you never think?

ChickenChurch and the 25Project

There always seems to be something that is changing in life as God continues to open doors. Change for some can be very frightening. I have found, at least in my life, that it tends to lead to bigger and better things. I'm not saying that change does not come without growing pains and challenges but it does have a way of pushing us to the next level. For years now, I have been going back and forth to the Dominican Republic working with church planters and missionaries and doing "my part" in living out the gospel to the "least of these".
The Lord has allowed us to build water projects, chicken coops, work on churches and share the love of Christ with all of those that we have come into contact with, and He continues to push us towards the next level in our ministry there.
For me that next level, is partnering with 25project.org. I will begin facilitating some of the things that the Lord has laid upon my heart for the Dominican Republic through my partnership with this organization. I am slowly beginning the process of looking for people who will come along side me as partners to help support me prayerfully and financially. My work with 25project will be funded totally by what the Lord provides through those people, like you, who may feel led to help. It is my desire to raise enough support to continue to follow the dream and live out the vision the Lord has given me for the people in the Dominican Republic.
Over the past few years, I have led many teams into the Dominican Republic and desire to continue to do so, but even more than I have in recent years. the Lord has placed a huge burden on my heart for these people and want to do my part to reach out to the "least of these". We have an on-going water project, an on-going chicken coop project, and a child sponsorship program that we are trying to launch by December of this year through @25projectorg. We have been praying about, and will continue to forge ahead with the idea of building a ministry center, that will one day function as an educational facility (school).  There is so much that the Lord has shown us and done in the last year. He continues to open doors through relationships, builders, and land owners.
I would ask that you begin praying for my family, as we begin this process. My Wife, Natalie, has been to the DR on several of our trips, and like me has a huge heart for the people there. We have a deep desire for our children to understand the gospel call on our lives for the "least of these" which is also another reason for our striving towards the next level in our ministry. God has been so faithful to our family and I know He will continue to do so.
I will faithfully continue serving as the pastor of Gateway Fellowship Church in Royse City, Texas as well as the Spiritual Life Director of Greenville Christian School. I am simply doing what I can, with the calling He has placed on my life, to answer and be obedient to striving towards the next level.
For an idea of what the Lord has allowed us to do so far, you can read my blog archives about the Dominican, or you can go to chickenchurch.org and also 25project.org.
If you would like to know how you can get involved, I would love to set up a time to share the vision with you. Until then, please pray for our family as we step out in faith.

Dominican Republic

Today I am in prayer for all my friends in the Dominican Republic and for the ministries that the Lord has allowed us to give vision to and partner with. He alone is good.
Right now, I am praying over the names of the students and adults who will be traveling with me in December to the DR. As of now, it looks as if our team could in fact be about 21 people strong.
Each time I've been to the DR, I have left a portion of my heart there. It is simply just a family reunion when I return there. We have so many friends that we have met that are considered family and I'm so glad that He is allowing us to "do life together"
Praying for chickenchurch.org and its partnership with 25project.org and the awesome privilege to be a part of the 25team.
We received some awesome news yesterday. Our chicken project in EL Cea in the Monte Plata province of The DR is now producing eggs. This is a very exciting time in the life of this project.
If you want to know how you can get involved with the work in the DR, message me. I would love to tell you all about it.

Light Receivers become Light Givers

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
-Matthew 5:14-16

"Disciples, if they are true to their calling, make the earth a purer and more palatable place.” (France)

“Poor world, poor world, it is dark, and gropes in midnight, and it cannot get light except it receives it through us! . . . To be the light of the world surrounds life with the most stupendous responsibilities, and so invests it with the most solemn dignity. Hear this, ye humble men and women, ye who have made no figure in society, ye are the light of the world. If ye burn dimly, dim is the world’s light, and dense its darkness.” (Spurgeon)

Redeemed

Take a moment. Sit back, relax, watch and listen. I hope the message in this video gives you strength and encouragement today. As a follower of Christ, you've been redeemed.
