Sunday Reflections

Sunday was awesome. The Worship was good. I really feel like the sermon was good. You might have to ask someone else about that? We had a parent/ baby dedication plus the recognition of Mothers. All in all Sunday was a good day. We are praying through some things in the life of the church right now and are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us and our community of faith.

We have some awesome ministry events coming down the pipeline so be checking out Gateway Fellowship for more information. Below is a list of the events that are coming up:

May 16th Men's Breakfast
May 31st SNL
June 5-6th Gateway Ladies Retreat

I will leave you with the words from the scriptures we walked through on Sunday morning. Remember that we talked about the Resurrection and what it means when dealing with death. "Where is your victory, O death, where is your sting?". I love what the scriptures say here. I also want to point out that in this thing called life many times we feel as though all of our work is in vain. As a church planter, this is something I admittedly struggle with at times. But, take special note of the last verse~ it speaks about our work for the kingdom

50Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

51Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

53For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.

55"O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"

56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;

57but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
